About the Care

This is chiropractic unlike
you’ve ever experienced it before.

Here’s where it came from:

I began with tonal chiropractic techniques (like TRT, MC2, and Talksy for those of you who appreciate specific names) and integrated some functional analysis skills for reading breathing, gait, and soft tissue tone.  Each one explores ways of working with the body beyond just correcting structural alignment.

Then, I incorporated some Osteopathic techniques, such as craniosacral and visceral manipulation, along with sustained hold adjustments.  These methods have given me much deeper insight into the subtle rhythms and movements of the human body.

Practically, here’s what that means:

I always start by applying the lowest amount of force to instigate change.  Many of my adjustments are light, sustained holds that create mild tension or ease in connective tissues.  They’re meant to draw your body’s attention to areas of dysfunction so it can create adjustments and corrections from within.

Sometimes conventional chiropractic adjustments are still the best option.  Sometimes things get stuck, and a relatively big input is the most effective way to create change.  This is much more rare with hypermobile and highly sensitive people than it is in the general population, but it’s always an option if and when your body calls for it.

How this work is different from most Chiropractic Methods:

This work is active.

It’s not just something I do to you.  It is a dialogue; an exchange.  Your body actively changes and adapts to my touch, as I actively adapt my work to your body in real time.

This work takes time.

Without the big pushing and popping of conventional chiropractic manipulations, we sometimes don’t get the instant gratification some people look for.  This slower, more subtle approach allows you body to heal in a more comfortable, less jarring way.

This work is very calming.

People often end session with me feeling more relaxed or even sleepy.  (This is why I usually recommend people come to me when they have time to rest after.)
